In the Bedrooms of Others

Towards the end Dad took to removing his grey flannels in the bedrooms of other residents, much to their surprise and, I have to say, my mother’s. This isn’t like him at all, she said, rubbing his hand gently with her thumb.  He’s never been much of a ladies’ man.

  1. This is beautifully and succinctly put. I worked in the field of mental health and have a mother in law with latter stage Alzheimer’s. My friend’s Dad, in a similar situation, not only had an increased libido (not uncommon as the brain deteriorates) but was always in lady’s rooms. It was sad but funny. I fully intend to go out climbing into strange men’s beds…:)
