On the Versatility of Clothing

Sometimes I remove articles of clothing and it makes things loads better. Then, other times, I can put some articles of clothing on and I feel so much happier. But mostly I just leave articles of clothing where they are. That works too. Clothing is just so versatile that way.

  1. I have a neighbour who doesn’t bother with washing his clothes. He puts them straight onto the clothesline. This works well in winter when it rains a lot, but now it’s summer. There’s talk of droughts. The woman who lives right next door to him told me she put up a high fence to spare herself the sight. I, on the other hand, do not worry.

I work at being civil to him. Do not ask me why. He is a miser, many years older than I. Does he know my name? Has he made a will? This is the sort of thing that worries me.

  2. Ha! Yes, deeply concerning. Regrettably, I think your neighbour is taking the versatility of clothing far, far too far. I am happy to start a petition regarding his wanton misuse of clothing if that would assist. Just for the record, I am not an advocate of inappropriate clothing storage, either within the home or outside. For example, I do the ironing every night and then fold or hang all items in carefully selected locations, all entirely fit for purpose. That’s just how great I am.
