New Year’s Day Message

I returned home this morning to find this message on my landline.  “Mary, I know we’ve had our differences but please, let’s use the New Year to put the past behind us and rebuild our relationship.  We owe it to Mum.”  I’ve never known a Mary.  The number was withheld.

    1. Ah – if it makes you feel any better, give it a Hollywood ending if you like. Perhaps he can phone back again next year’s eve….I could heroically stay in just to take the call and then the reunited brother and sister could leave me loads of money in their wills and I could set up a charity for bewildered turkeys and standard dolphins and then…hold on, I’m going over my word count limit…..
