The Heavy Price of Fame

The young mother in the park waved at me.

‘Why did that lady wave at you?’ the eight-year-old boy I was with asked me.

‘Must be because I’m really famous,’ I replied.

The boy gave me a look.  ‘You’re not famous,’ he scoffed.  ‘You don’t eat in KFC every day.’

    1. Thanks – unusually for me, this actually happened. He’s quite an interesting character, that particular boy. He was adamant that if you were rich you would obviously choose to eat in KFC each and every day. He seemed genuinely surprised that I was surprised.
