Albert learns that some excuses are better than others

Albert waits in a static tube train for ten minutes.

Finally, the driver makes an announcement.  “We apologise for the delay: we’re waiting for the train behind to catch up.”

Albert exchanges a look with an elderly man seated opposite him.

“Fought in the war for this,” the man said.

  1. Oh yes – we’re certainly world leaders in crap excuses. We get ‘the wrong sort of leaves’ on the line sometimes as well. Funnily enough, I was in a band once called ‘No Excuses.’ We were crap. No, honestly….
